Ground white pepper is a light white powder, with a taste similar to black pepper, but less pungent or harsh. Ground from the dried, immature berries of Piper nigrum L., from which the out and inner coverings have been removed. Use white pepper for aesthetic purposes in light-colored foods or sauces. To preserve natural flavor, store in a cool, dry area in sealed containers for shelf life of up to 18 months from date of manufucture without loss of flavor and/or functionality.
