Traditional Bean SoupIngredients & Instructions
Ingredients:- 2 ½ lbs. Great Northern Beans, dried
- 1 Gal. cold Water
- ½ Gal. Hot Water
- 5 oz. Karlsburger Ham Base
Cooking Instructions:
Wash beans well. In a heavy 8 qt. sauce pan, combine beans and cold water. Bring to a boil; approx 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for 1 hour. Stir in water and Karlsburger Ham Base Heat to boiling. Reduce heat and gently boil for 2 hours, covered loosely or until beans are tender. Stir occasionally. Serve hot garnished with diced ham or shredded Colby Cheese. Yield: 1 Gal. 2 c. or approx. 24 – 6 oz. servings.
