French Onion SoupIngredients & Instructions
Ingredients:- 3 oz. Margarine or Butter
- 2 lbs. 4 oz. Onions, sliced 1/8 inch thick and cut into 1” lengths
- 1 ¼ Gallons Hot Water
- 6 oz. Karlsburger Beef Base
Cooking Instructions:
In a heavy 8 quart sauce pan, melt margarine or butter over medium heat. Add onions and sauté 65 – 70 minutes or until onions turn a rich brown color, stirring frequently. (Caution: be careful not to burn the onions.) Stir in water and Karlsburger Beef Base Heat to boiling, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and gently boil 5 minutes. Serve hot garnished with 1 slice toasted Grench bread topped with shredded Gruyere or Swiss Cheese.
